Qiandao Lake International Tennis Open is about to start, and Chinese and foreign tennis players will gather together

On October 16, a press conference was held for the “Bingjiang Yunding Taoyuan Cup” 2024 Qiandao Lake International Tennis Open in Chun’an County, Zhejiang. This highly anticipated tournament will feature four main events: women’s singles, women’s doubles, men’s singles, and men’s doubles, running for 15 days. The women’s competitions will take place from October 20 to 27, followed by the men’s events from October 27 to November 3.

As the grand finale of the ITF season in China, this year’s tournament has received a significant upgrade, introducing combined men’s and women’s events for the first time. The tournament’s classification has been elevated from a tour event to an open event, boasting a total prize pool of $50,000. This marks the second time Chun’an County has hosted a high-profile international tennis event.

The competition will see participation from 154 professional players representing 30 countries and regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and France. Notable athletes such as Vandeweghe, Prozorova, Sasikumar, and Lanchelle will compete alongside top local talents like Bai Yan, Sun Fajing, You Xiaodi, and Lu Jiajing.

To ensure the tournament runs smoothly, Chun’an County will leverage its extensive experience in organizing events and its rich tennis culture to provide participants and spectators with top-notch services and experiences. The event will also creatively incorporate elements of Chun’an’s historical and cultural heritage, making this tennis festivity a showcase of the region’s unique modern charm.

Additionally, this tournament aims to be a significant catalyst for Chun’an County’s economic and social development. The local government plans to adopt an innovative “sports + tourism + internet” model, fostering integrated development and resource sharing between tourism and sporting events, injecting new vitality and momentum into the city’s growth.

The event is organized by the China Tennis Association and the Cultural, Radio, Television, Tourism, and Sports Bureau of Chun’an County, with the Chun’an Tennis Association managing the event and supported by the Zhejiang Tennis Association and Hangzhou Tennis Association.
