Turkish expert Gusar from China Central Radio and Television Station- China’s sustainable development achievements are amazing
On October 18, a group of ten foreign experts from China Media Group visited the Qingshuichuan Coal-Electricity Integrated Plant in Yulin, Fugu, which boasts the largest installed capacity of any coal-fired power facility in the country. The experts were taken aback by the plant’s impressive achievements, including several “world firsts.” “This power plant showcases China’s astounding progress in sustainable development,” remarked Güzel, a Turkish expert from China Media Group.
Coal-fired power remains a cornerstone of China’s energy security and stability. The Qingshuichuan facility is a key component of the nationally significant ±800 kV UHVDC project connecting Shaanxi Province to Hubei Province. With a total installed capacity of 4.6 million kilowatts and an estimated annual electricity output of over 23 billion kilowatt-hours, it stands as the largest coal-electricity integrated enterprise in the nation and ranks sixth nationally, as well as the largest thermal power plant in Northwest China.
“It’s not just in the energy sector—China is prioritizing sustainable development across all industries, focusing on green energy and technologies,” Güzel noted. “What we see here will help us understand China’s efforts toward a green and low-carbon economy.”
In recent years, China has actively and systematically pursued its “dual carbon” goals, advancing an energy revolution and promoting the sector’s transition to green and low-carbon practices, thus embarking on a path of modern development that harmonizes with nature.
