The Jiangxi chapter of cultural activities themed on the construction of a shared spiritual home for the Chinese nation was launched
On October 22, the launch ceremony for the “2024 Cultural Activity for Building a Shared Spiritual Home for the Chinese Nation – Jiangxi Edition” took place in Nanchang, according to a report from China News Service.
Themed “The Chinese Nation as One Family, Passing Down the Red Gene Through Generations,” this event will run from October 22 to October 25 across Nanchang, Fuzhou, and Ji’an. It aims to strengthen the awareness of a shared Chinese national identity, promote ethnic unity and progress, and foster interactions among different ethnic groups.
In his speech at the launch ceremony, Guo Weiping, Deputy Director and Member of the Party Leadership Group of the National Ethnic Affairs Commission, emphasized that the aim of organizing this cultural activity in Jiangxi is to implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important thoughts on strengthening and improving ethnic work. He highlighted the significance of passing down the red gene, experiencing green ecology, appreciating historical culture, and striving for a bright future. Guo expressed the hope that through mutual learning and exchanges, the shared spiritual home of the Chinese nation would become more colorful and vibrant, uniting hearts and pooling strength.
Huang Xizhong, a member of the Jiangxi Provincial Committee and Minister of the United Front Work Department, also addressed the gathering, stating that Jiangxi will seize this opportunity to carry forward the red gene and continue the legacy of revolutionary history. He encouraged all ethnic groups to deepen their “five recognitions” and firmly establish “four commonalities,” aiming to strengthen the awareness of a shared Chinese national identity and construct a shared spiritual home.
The event is co-hosted by 11 organizations, including the Cultural Promotion Department of the National Ethnic Affairs Commission, the Jiangxi Provincial Publicity Department, the United Front Work Department of the Provincial Party Committee, and the Provincial Ethnic and Religious Affairs Bureau. Representatives from ethnic work departments across various provinces, regions, and municipalities observed the activities and engaged in in-depth discussions with local officials and residents regarding experiences and practices in building a shared spiritual home for the Chinese nation.
