On October 10th, we spoke with a representative from the China Weather Network who noted that weak cold air is currently impacting the northern regions of China, causing slight fluctuations in temperature across areas like North China and Northeast China. However, they anticipate that by October 11th, this cold air will dissipate, allowing temperatures in most northern areas to begin rising. The temperature line of 20℃ is expected to move northward, bringing a hint of warmth back to much of Northeast China.

In stark contrast, the southern regions of the country are expected to see temperatures exceeding 30℃. With plenty of sunshine, afternoons might feel a bit warm, prompting individuals to stay hydrated and shield themselves from the sun’s rays.

When asked about the effect of the weak cold air, the representative emphasized that while it will bring about temporary temperature changes, the impact won’t be significant or long-lasting. After October 11th, temperatures in central and eastern China are predicted to rise above normal, transforming the atmosphere in places like Jinan and Zhengzhou, where maximum temperatures may reach between 26℃ and 27℃, evoking a spring-like ambiance.

As we turn our attention to the southern regions, the warming trend is expected to arrive sooner. Cities across South China, particularly Guangzhou, are projected to maintain highs in the low 30s over the upcoming week. With sunny skies, afternoons will likely feel pleasantly warm, making it an opportune time for outdoor activities.

In the Jiangnan region, rising temperatures will take center stage in the next few days, with maximum temperatures approaching or hitting 25℃. However, residents should prepare for a significant drop in nighttime temperatures due to limited cloud cover, resulting in a broader day-night temperature difference. Early mornings and late evenings may feel cool, so it’s advisable for locals to dress warmly to avoid catching a chill.

Overall, most of the nation can expect abundant sunshine and minimal rainfall, except for the southwest region, which is currently experiencing overcast and rainy weather. As the southwest enters a phase of frequent rainfall, it is forecasted to receive the heaviest precipitation in the country over the next few days. Specifically, areas of southeastern Tibet, southern Sichuan, and parts of Yunnan could face moderate to heavy rain, with southeastern Tibet at risk of heavy downpours. Furthermore, light to moderate snow or sleet may occur in northeastern Inner Mongolia, northwestern Heilongjiang, southern Qinghai, and northeastern Tibet.

Looking ahead to tomorrow, regions including southeastern Tibet, southeastern Northwest China, northeastern Southwest China, and southern Yunnan might also experience moderate to heavy rain, with southeastern Tibet facing potential heavy rainfall. Additionally, parts of southern Qinghai, northeastern Tibet, and the northern Sichuan Plateau could see light to moderate snow or sleet.

As we observe the coming days, it appears that the majority of the country will experience dry conditions with sporadic rain. However, central and northern regions such as eastern Hubei, northern Hunan, and northern Jiangxi are grappling with moderate to severe meteorological drought, some areas even suffering from extreme conditions. Unfortunately, no significant rainfall is predicted in the near future, suggesting that the drought will persist. Authorities in these areas should take proactive measures to conserve water and manage reservoirs effectively.
