State Post Bureau- The peak season for express delivery business has started, and the single-day business volume has reached a record high
According to the official WeChat account of the State Post Bureau, recent monitoring data reveals that from October 21 to 23, the national express delivery industry collected approximately 1.92 billion parcels, reflecting a year-over-year increase of 48.7%. During the same period, around 1.655 billion parcels were delivered, up 29.5% from last year. Notably, on October 22 alone, 729 million parcels were collected, marking a remarkable 74% increase and setting a new single-day record for the industry.
This surge not only indicates the resilience of China’s express delivery sector but also highlights its ability to meet the diverse and high-quality consumer service demands of the population. It further underscores the significant market advantages that come with China’s vast scale. With a series of development and reform initiatives rolled out this year, coupled with measures to stimulate domestic demand and consumption, the consumer market’s potential is being increasingly realized, driving the ongoing expansion of the express delivery market and providing robust support for high-quality economic development.
This year marks the 15th time since 2010 that the express delivery industry is gearing up for its peak season, which began on October 21 and is expected to last through the Spring Festival of 2025. To ensure effective service during this busy period, the State Post Bureau has called for all operators in the industry to enhance their planning and coordination capabilities. They emphasize the importance of balancing development with safety, urban and rural logistics, as well as front-end and back-end operations. Focusing on service quality, safety, stability, and consumer rights protection, the goal is to create a seamless, safe, and customer-friendly peak season.
Express delivery companies are adhering to the principles of “staggered shipping and balanced progress,” actively coordinating with e-commerce platforms to organize their warehousing and shipping schedules efficiently. This includes the optimal allocation of personnel, space, vehicles, and the utilization of advanced technologies such as drones and automated delivery vehicles to ensure timely transport and enhance last-mile delivery capabilities while maintaining high service standards.
