Private enterprises gather -joint force- and -chain- to move the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region – a side note of the 8th Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei private economic and industrial docking exchange conference
During the past decade of coordinated development in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, we have seen an impressive network of transportation infrastructure take shape—expressways like the Jingxiong Expressway, high-speed rail lines such as the Jingzhang, and the intercity link between Beijing and Tangshan have all been completed, branching out across the map like rivers.
In tandem with this expansion, the roads for private enterprises are also widening. On October 22, the Eighth Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Private Economy Industry Exchange Conference was held in Beijing. This event, collaboratively organized by the Chambers of Commerce from the three regions, aimed to facilitate resource sharing and supply-demand matching among private enterprises. It sought to guide these businesses towards alignment with national development strategies in key industrial sectors such as biomedicine, high-end equipment, and robotics.
As the conference kicked off, attendees flocked to the exhibition area outside the venue. One representative from Fisher Holding Group introduced their flagship product, the “Three-Dimensional Security Vehicle.” A simple request to connect over WeChat led to deeper discussions about potential collaboration. This innovative vehicle, which enables low-speed autonomous driving, can serve as a mobile platform for drones and is designed for applications in property management, airport perimeters, and industrial parks. It captured the attention of several participating companies throughout the day.
“We are excited about the widespread digital applications in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area. With the help of this event, we are ready to formally enter this market, planning to build a smart factory in Daxing to extend our product reach across the region,” stated Yu Mingkun, Chairman of Fisher Holding Group.
At another end of the exhibition, a unique “non-radiative hydrogen motorcycle” developed by Beijing Juzhi Hezhong Technology Co., Ltd. drew attention with its distinctive hollow wheel hub design that enhances safety. “By participating in this exchange, we aim to showcase our technological achievements and also to engage with local governments and funding firms in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area to help us expand our production and sales,” explained Fang Gang, President of the company.
Representatives from leading enterprises in emerging sectors took to the stage to discuss industry prospects. For instance, Meikaman (Beijing) Robot Technology Co., Ltd. is focused on equipping industrial robots with “eyes” and “brains,” which are now widely used in the auto parts production sector. Meanwhile, Tangshan Baichuan Robot Sharing Manufacturing Factory is sharing its facilities, equipment, and financial resources with SMEs to help them expedite their product launches and reduce production costs.
The conference was lively; whenever a speaker concluded their remarks, applause filled the room, and several attendees rushed forward to exchange contact information. “As an important cooperative platform for promoting the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, the Private Economy Industry Exchange Conference has successfully held eight sessions. It has effectively facilitated exchanges and close cooperation among enterprises from the three regions. An increasing number of companies have achieved tangible benefits through this platform,” noted Jiang Haoran, Co-Chairman of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Entrepreneur Alliance and Chairman of Hengyin Financial Group.
The event also served as a bridge between government and enterprise, fostering industrial roots. With 12 national-level research and development institutions and a planned industrial park spanning 225,000 square kilometers alongside 300,000 square meters of available standard factory space, local government support plays a crucial role in transitioning industries from concept to reality. The display area for Beijing Daxing District showcased these advantages clearly.
Daxing District has established multiple industrial parks, including the Daxing International Hydrogen Energy Demonstration Zone and the Beijing Daxing International Airport Economic Zone, which focus on meeting the diverse growth needs of companies by providing policy consulting and industry analysis services.
The district’s strategic location—with an airport, two high-speed rail lines, and six expressways—enables rapid connections. Travel from Daxing Airport to Tianjin West Station takes just 38 minutes, and to Xiong’an only 19 minutes. This locational benefit serves as another “golden card” for Daxing and epitomizes the collaborative vision for Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei.
In a policy briefing at the conference, experts analyzed the economic landscape and industrial situation of the region, while representatives from the China International Cooperation Association for SMEs discussed green development initiatives and support for specialized businesses. The Beijing Stock Exchange also provided insights into policies for companies aspiring to list in the capital.
“Private enterprises in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region have developed distinct industry characteristics. Moving forward, we need to strengthen communication among entrepreneurs, promote integration along the supply chain, and diffuse existing industry strengths to other areas for broader market expansion,” said Qi Xiangdong, Chairman of Qi Anxin Group and rotating chairman of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Entrepreneur Alliance.
As the event drew to a close, two key lists were presented: a “Supply List” detailing typical technology offerings from prominent firms in biomedicine, chemistry, and traditional Chinese medicine, and a “Demand List” identifying gaps in these industries, such as upgrades needed for technological equipment.
These lists serve as vital tools, allowing companies in need of specific technologies to connect with the right firms while compiling the collective requests from various sectors, thereby guiding relevant departments in crafting tailored policies to stimulate industrial growth.
As the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region marks ten years of collaborative development, Zha Yujin, Deputy Minister of the Beijing United Front Work Department and Secretary of the CPC Beijing Federation of Industry and Commerce, stated that they will work closely with their counterparts in Tianjin and Hebei to strengthen communication and cooperation, ultimately fostering new collaborative dynamics in the regional economy.
