New Era Girls Inaugurate Science Laboratory in Alma Matter
In celebration of their 40th Graduation Anniversary, the alumni from the 1984 class of New Era Girls’ Secondary School (NEGSS) in Surulere, Lagos, are excited to announce the inauguration of a state-of-the-art Chemistry Laboratory on Thursday, October 17. This momentous occasion will be followed by a thanksgiving service on Friday, October 18, at the school auditorium. This initiative highlights the alumni’s ongoing commitment to improving science education at NEGSS.
Governor Olubukola Johnson Adeyemi shared insights with journalists during a recent press briefing, emphasizing the initiative’s aim to create a modern and effective learning environment for students. “This is part of our ongoing commitment to academic excellence and our legacy of supporting the school’s development,” he remarked.
Adeyemi pointed out that the newly refurbished chemistry laboratory will feature advanced tools and resources aimed at enhancing the educational experience for students. “This ceremony isn’t just about the laboratory; it’s a celebration of the many achievements of NEGSS alumni and a way to express our gratitude for four decades of shared success,” he commented.
He also noted that the upcoming event will provide attendees with an opportunity to reflect on the school’s rich history and its positive impact on both graduates and the wider community.
Folashade Balogun Jose, Chairperson of the Anniversary Planning Committee, highlighted that this historic occasion is anticipated to be a landmark celebration of education, innovation, and community spirit. “We expect to draw prominent figures from various sectors, including government officials, education stakeholders, and distinguished alumni,” she stated.
“This event will also be a remarkable opportunity for us to give back to both the school and society, marking a milestone of gratitude, progress, and unity,” she concluded.
