Next week, Indonesia is set to introduce anti-dumping duties on specific flat-rolled steel products imported from Taiwan, China, and South Korea. As detailed in a recent announcement from Indonesia’s Ministry of Finance, these new tariffs will take effect on Monday, October 14th.

According to Reuters, a government document specifies that the affected products will face additional duties ranging from 4.4% to 7.9%, alongside existing general import tariffs. These new tariffs will remain in place until 2029.

The document underscores the importance of these anti-dumping duties, citing investigations that indicate Indonesia’s domestic steel industry is still struggling to recover from the effects of dumped flat-rolled steel products from these countries.

The report highlights that at least nine companies will be impacted by this decision, with five of them being identified as Chinese firms.
