How Kingsley Amadibe Champions Unity, Peaceful Co-existence in Nigeria
In our interview with Kingsley Amafibe, a dedicated advocate for unity and peaceful coexistence in Nigeria, it became evident that his commitment to bridging divides between the country’s diverse ethnic and religious groups is both deep and steadfast. He is convinced that achieving harmony demands ongoing efforts to reduce inter-tribal rivalry and suspicion.
Amafibe has emerged as a pivotal figure among nationalists and leaders advocating for national integration and religious tolerance in Nigeria. Hailing from Delta State, he has spent over 15 years championing peace and fostering community development nationwide. His entrepreneurial mindset, combined with an extensive background in media management, has made him a beacon of hope and a catalyst for positive change—not just in Nigeria but throughout Africa.
With a degree in Finance and Banking, Amafibe has furthered his education with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the renowned American Management University. His commitment to personal development goes even further; he has affiliations with the Chartered Institute of Management and Leadership, completed an advanced leadership masterclass at the GOTNI Leadership Center, and earned a diploma in media and advertising from CIML Business School. He is also actively engaged with the International Peace Commission and sits on the Governing Council of Havilla University, among other responsibilities.
Amafibe’s efforts extend beyond mere advocacy; he understands that lack of development can lead to crises. He has partnered with state governments to promote grassroots initiatives, particularly through scholarship programs in Northern Nigeria. His African Peace Scholarship Project, in collaboration with the Kaduna State government, aims to boost school enrollment and support sustainable development.
Recently, as the founder of the Peace Ambassador Agency, Amafibe organized a significant event in Abuja, uniting key players in Nigeria’s peace and security sectors. The forthcoming 14th Peace Achievers International Conference will center on “Building Bridges for Sustainable Peace and Security: Integrating Sectors for a Harmonious Future.” This conference is poised to draw security and defense agencies, civil society organizations, community leaders, and the public to foster dialogue aimed at reducing divisions and promoting a culture of peace.
Furthermore, Amafibe successfully hosted the 100 Most Notable African Leadership and Business Summit 2024 in Kigali, Rwanda. This summit focused on collaboration among leaders in business, governance, and security across Africa, featuring prominent figures like the Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, and former Nigerian President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan.
As the founder of the Davdan Peace and Advocacy Foundation, the Peace Achievers International Conference and Awards, and various other initiatives, Amafibe is deeply invested in nurturing young talent and creating avenues for social impact. His impressive array of accolades—from local to international—reflect his dedication, including the International Peace Award for Advocacy and Community Development and the Award for Excellence in Peace from the University of Abuja.
On a personal note, Kingsley Amafibe is married to Rosita Obumnaeke Amafibe, an entrepreneur and founder of Good Dreams Salon. Together, they share the joy of parenting their two sons, Prince David Ugochukwu Amafibe and Prince Daniel Tobechukwu Amafibe.
