Four crimes committed in January- Brooklyn homeless man arrested for home invasion and robbery_1
In an alarming series of events, a Brooklyn man was arrested for committing four residential burglaries in September. The New York Police Department issued a wanted notice for the suspect on October 18, and he was apprehended just two days later on October 20. He now faces 17 counts of second-degree burglary.
The suspect, identified as 53-year-old Ruben Ruiz, stands 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds. Authorities have reported that he is homeless.
According to police reports, the first burglary occurred on September 14 at approximately 6:04 PM. On that evening, a man forcibly entered a residence near the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Saint James Place. Once inside, he stole various tools valued at about $1,900 and fled the scene on a bicycle. Fortunately, no one was injured during this incident.
The second burglary took place on September 21 around 4:25 AM. In this case, a perpetrator broke into a home near Lafayette Avenue and Grand Avenue, stealing an array of tools worth approximately $1,200. After the crime, he escaped eastward on Lafayette Avenue on his bike, again without causing harm to anyone.
Both the third and fourth burglaries occurred in the early hours of September 28. The first incident happened around 12:59 AM when the suspect broke into another home near Atlantic Avenue and Saint James Place, stealing various tools before fleeing on his bicycle. Later, at approximately 5:57 AM, he struck again at a residence near Grand Avenue and Clifton Place, this time taking a variety of food items before making his escape north along Grand Avenue.
