All four competitions for the 2024 Super League Three have come to an end

On October 6, the 2024 season of the Super 3×3 League came to an exciting conclusion with the Chongqing Championship. The Ningbo Haishu Jieying team emerged victorious over the Shanghai Jiushi team in what marked their first championship win in this prestigious competition.

The Super 3×3 League, organized by the Chinese Basketball Association, represents the pinnacle of three-on-three basketball in China. This season featured a unique league format that combined regional tournaments with championship rounds, including ten qualifiers from cities such as Deqing, Shenzhen, Guiyang, Wuxi, Chengdu, Jingjiang, Wuhan, Chongming, Guangzhou, and Nanchang, alongside four championship events in Ningbo, Beijing, Zhangjiagang, and Chongqing.

Both teams in the final boasted a wealth of experience, with several players having represented the national team. Before the championship showdown, the Ningbo Haishu Jieying team was sitting at seventh place in the overall points standings, while Shanghai Jiushi held a commendable second place.

As the final match unfolded, both teams started strong, dominating the paint and keeping the scoreline close throughout the game. With just four minutes left on the clock, Ningbo, propelled by the scoring prowess of Wu Xingrui and Lasmanis, pulled ahead with an 18-13 lead. However, Shanghai fought back fiercely, closing the gap to just two points thanks to contributions from Luo Xudong and Yan Peng, coupled with a solid defensive stand. In a pivotal moment, Wu Xingrui delivered a series of clutch shots, ultimately sealing the victory for Ningbo.

Following the match, Wu Xingrui credited their triumph to a month of teamwork and their adaptation to playing alongside new foreign recruit Lasmanis, emphasizing that they had discovered their most effective style of play. Despite the defeat, Luo Xudong of Shanghai Jiushi earned the title of Most Valuable Player for the tournament.

With the Chongqing Championship concluded, all four championship rounds of this season’s Super 3×3 League have wrapped up. Looking forward, the next regional tournaments are scheduled to take place concurrently in Shenzhen and Chengdu from October 19 to 20.
