-Entrepreneurship in China·Innovation in Hefei- 2024 Hefei Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurship Competition Finals Road Show Ends
On September 19, the final roadshow for the “Entrepreneurship in China, Innovation in Hefei – 2024 Hefei Overseas Entrepreneur Competition” wrapped up in Hefei, Anhui Province. This significant event was a collaboration between the Anhui Provincial Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and the Hefei Municipal Government, with execution managed by the Hefei Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and the Shushan District People’s Government.
The central philosophy of the competition is to attract talent, investment, and trade through the overseas Chinese community. The aim is to harness the strengths of overseas professionals and gather high-quality resources from both home and abroad, thereby fostering innovation and energizing industrial growth in Hefei.
The competition spotlighted 12 key industrial chains, such as new display technologies and network security, looking for projects that possess independent intellectual property rights, robust business plans, and strong market prospects. An impressive array of 154 projects from 24 countries and regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Japan, entered the competition, with a notable 56.49% of submissions—87 projects—originating from recently returned overseas Chinese.
After a thorough preliminary process and a rigorous selection procedure, 12 exceptional projects advanced to the finals. Each team was given 7 minutes to present their projects, followed by a 3-minute Q&A session. A panel of judges evaluated the teams based on their presentations and the substance of their business plans.
At the end of the competition, two projects took home first place, four secured second place, and six claimed third. The award-winning teams will benefit from various forms of support, including funding, implementation services, policy incentives, and promotional opportunities to enhance their growth and facilitate their market entry.
The competition also included an interactive session designed to encourage networking among participants, investors, and industry peers, fostering discussions about collaboration opportunities and effective project-resource alignments.
