Cold air affects Guangdong and most of the province has experienced dry weather recently

By szjpkitchen.com

On October 8, the Guangdong Meteorological Bureau announced that the province is currently experiencing dry conditions attributed to cold air influences. They urge residents to exercise caution regarding forest fire safety and to use fire and electricity responsibly at home. Furthermore, the Bureau warns that increased wind strength over the sea poses potential risks for coastal tourism and maritime transport.

Looking ahead, the Bureau forecasts that light cold air will bring scattered showers to the eastern and southern coastal regions of Guangdong from October 8 to 9. Between October 10 and 11, the majority of the province is expected to see a transition from cloudy to clearer skies.

On October 9, the southern coastal areas can anticipate cloudy skies with some local showers, while other regions will enjoy a blend of sun and clouds. Minimum temperatures are projected to range from 15°C to 18°C in the northwestern parts, 23°C to 25°C in the southwestern regions and central-southern areas of the Pearl River Delta, and 18°C to 23°C in other locations. The weather from October 10 to 11 looks to remain partly cloudy to sunny in the southern coastal regions, while other areas will likely experience clear to partly cloudy conditions.

In addition, the weak cold air is contributing to strong winds over the sea. On October 8, northeastern winds ranged from 6 to 7, with gusts up to 8 reported over the eastern Guangdong seas. The central and western regions saw northeastern winds at levels 5 to 6, with gusts reaching 7. The forecast for October 9 indicates that northeastern winds will persist at levels 6 to 7 in eastern Guangdong, with gusts again potentially reaching 8, while the central and western sea areas can expect winds at level 5.
