The Guangdong Procuratorate prosecuted Duan Yufei for suspected bribery in accordance with the law
On October 14, according to a report from the Supreme People’s Procuratorate via Weibo, Duan Yufei, the former Party Secretary and Director of the Guangdong Provincial Health Commission, has been accused of bribery. This case, which falls under the jurisdiction of the People’s Procuratorate of Guangdong Province, has been officially prosecuted by the People’s Procuratorate of Zhongshan City in the Zhongshan Intermediate People’s Court, and the investigation is ongoing.
During the prosecution phase, the legal rights of the defendant, Duan Yufei, were communicated formally, and he was questioned in accordance with the law. The Zhongshan City Procuratorate has charged Duan Yufei, alleging that he took advantage of various positions he held—including Party Secretary of the Yao Autonomous County of Liuyuan in Guangdong, Member of the Standing Committee of the Shaoguan Municipal Committee, Secretary of the Shaoguan Municipal Discipline Inspection Commission, Vice Mayor of the Shaoguan Municipal Government, Secretary and Director of the Guangdong Provincial Food and Drug Administration, Secretary and Director of the Guangdong Provincial Health and Family Planning Commission, and Deputy Director of the Guangdong Provincial People’s Congress Education, Science, Culture, and Health Committee—to solicit benefits for others. It is claimed that he received significantly large sums of money and property illegally, and he will be held criminally liable for bribery as per the law.
