San Jose police recently arrested Luis Garcia, a suspect linked to multiple armed robberies. During the execution of a search warrant at Garcia’s residence, officers discovered a homemade firearm along with a significant quantity of suspected narcotics intended for sale. This arrest marks a significant breakthrough in a complex criminal investigation.

The case originated on August 16 at around 1:40 PM when San Jose Police received a report of an armed robbery at a store in the 100 block of East San Salvador Street. Garcia had entered the store and got into a heated argument with an employee over his attempt to leave with a large quantity of alcohol without paying.

When the store employee tried to stop him, Garcia shoved the employee and displayed a firearm tucked into his waistband, threatening the staff member not to impede his escape before fleeing the scene.

Following the robbery, police quickly arrived to gather evidence and launched an investigation, which soon pointed to Garcia as the primary suspect in the case.

While the investigation was ongoing, Garcia struck again, using similar tactics. On September 19 at approximately 6:50 PM, officers responded to another armed robbery report at a store located in the 2100 block of Fruitdale Avenue.

Mirroring the earlier incident, Garcia entered the store and attempted to steal alcohol. When store staff pursued him as he tried to leave, he brandished his firearm, threatening the employees. Before officers could arrive, Garcia fled the scene in his vehicle.

Through further investigation of both incidents, police gathered additional evidence that led to an arrest warrant and a search warrant for Garcia’s residence. On October 9, the San Jose Police located his hideout.

The arrest proceeded without incident. Following Garcia’s apprehension, officers conducted a thorough search of his home. They uncovered a homemade firearm and a substantial amount of suspected drugs along with related paraphernalia, indicating that Garcia may be involved not only in armed robbery but also in drug trafficking and other illegal activities.

Garcia is currently in custody facing serious charges including armed robbery, illegal possession of a firearm, and drug trafficking.
