5 dead and 1 injured! Mass shooting in Seattle, USA, 15-year-old boy detained
On October 21, a tragic shooting incident occurred at a residence in Seattle, Washington, resulting in the death of five individuals and the detention of a teenager, as reported by NPR.
According to King County Sheriff’s Deputy Mike Melis, police received multiple 911 calls early that morning regarding the gunfire in the city’s Froland neighborhood. Upon their arrival, authorities discovered five deceased individuals inside the home, including two adults and three teenagers. They also found another teenager who had sustained “at least two injuries” and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The King County Sheriff’s Office indicated that the suspect and the victims appeared to be members of the same family, and the investigation is focused on uncovering their relationships. “This is clearly a tragic case of domestic violence involving both teenagers and firearms,” Melis explained, adding that it remains unclear how many weapons were used during the incident.
A 15-year-old boy has been detained in connection with the case and is expected to make his first court appearance on October 23. At this time, the case has not yet been referred to the King County Prosecutor’s Office for formal charges.
